Ramadan Iftar Dinner – Building Community Trust
26 February, 5.00pm, Mansfield College
Dialogue Society Oxford is delighted to invite you to our 4th annual Iftar Dinner, delivered in partnership with Mansfield College, Oxford University. This special gathering offers a meaningful opportunity to come together in person to strengthen community trust, promote social cohesion, and foster mutual understanding. We warmly invite you to break bread together, share conversations, and experience an enriching Ramadan evening rooted in solidarity and connection.
This year’s focus on building community trust highlights the importance of creating spaces where people from all backgrounds can meet, listen, and engage openly. Trust grows when diverse communities come together with respect, empathy, and a shared commitment to the common good. Through this event, we aim to cultivate a deeper sense of belonging and encourage meaningful dialogue that bridges cultural and religious differences.
By bringing people together during the sacred month of Ramadan—a time of reflection, compassion, and generosity—we hope to strengthen the ties that bind our communities. Fasting encourages us to consider the experiences of others, deepen our empathy, and extend care, making this an ideal moment to reflect on how we can collectively foster greater trust and understanding.
We aspire to create a welcoming space where cooperation can flourish, misunderstandings can give way to mutual respect, and new relationships can grow. Together, we can build stronger, more inclusive communities where diversity is celebrated and everyone feels valued.
